The meaning of Billabong.

The land I live on now used to be owned by a Parsi family that fought over it until one of them sold it to a bunch of unscrupulous builders.

I may never own a piece of this land. I may also never have a family to fight over it with.

Words like "I love you" and "I'll always be there for you" will always seem hollow. They may even make me laugh.

Except when sung by The Eagles.

The raddiwallah has been cheating me for months!

Chinese food gives me a tummy ache.

Sid doesn't care if I have a tummy ache!

A cigarette lighter can vanish into thin air just when you need it the most.

So can certain people.

And that's fine as long as they don't vanish together. Life without a lighter can be cruel.
