baked two chocolate cakes in my empty kitchen
listened to that song 56 times
stared blankly at the wall 283 times
slept a total of 43 hours
hurt my foot 9 times or less
banged my knee 12 times or more
drunk three bottles of pulpy orange juice
and not lit a cigarette every one of the
1224 times that I felt the urge to
but I haven't thought about you once
not even once.

@Pat - I hate cooking for myself and when I'm sad then it's even worse. I have to drag myself into the kitchen. Otherwise it's instant noodles or something cheap from a shop nearby!

I have this book, Jamaica Surveyed, and there are lists of things the colonialists owned back then, things like silver spoons, etc. I have no idea why the things people thought about, did, owned back then, fascinates me.
