Life is never just as it seems, out on the surface. Non-committal and blemish free. Unrecorded and unaccounted for.
It's what's living and breathing beneath the layers of your skin, underneath the tattoos and the tans.
It's that bald spot you’re always trying to cover up or the hairs on your chin you’re trying to pluck out.
It's eating a whole bag of chips or leaving red lipstick stains on empty wine glasses when you think no one is watching.
It's the rain that beats relentlessly against the glass panes on your window and then trickles down to moisten the earth, even through all the concrete and the stone.
It's also the rain that pours down furiously inside your chest, irrigating all the things that you thought you had forgotten.
It's finding your partner's bodily fluids dried up and hidden inside the folds of a towel, a testimony to the moments that did not include you.
It's the way your kids respond more to the touch of someone who was hired by you to be just a temporary subsitute.
It's all those stolen cigarette breaks that you take out on the terrace, knowing that you're going to go back inside, just a little more dead each time.
It's also the picture you keep hidden behind the ones you're allowed to show, knowing that there will come a day when all will be revealed.
It's that list you've been making all these years, everything in the same order as when you had first started, and everything just as untouched and unattempted as when you had begun.
Life is exactly what’s happening to you now when you think you’ve put it on hold.

Have you heard about that film with people around the world? It's supposed to be capture one time in people's lives, on July 23 at a certain time. I've only heard about it on the news.

Yes it's called Life in a Day and I really want to watch it! It premiered on YouTube last year but I missed it :-(
