Don't get sucked into the problems and pain of others. They will just make your dormant ones come alive again.

If it's love that you long for, close your eyes and learn how to love yourself. Love everything about you that makes you unique. Also love every mundane little thing about yourself that makes you just like everyone else. Lie in bed listening to the sound of your own heart beating and know that there's someone out there who's doing the same. Believe that one day the two of you will meet and hear the sounds of your hearts beating together.

If it's passion and romance and magic that you desire, don't crowd your life with someone who gives you the opposite. Throw away the sordid, empty, hollow moments of disgust. @Grace - I got it from there too. Love that movie and this story is one of my faves along with Colin Firth's.
@Pat - Not sure if they're wise or not but I am living up to them. We make up our own life rules as we go along. What works for me might not work for someone else and vice-versa.
