what we all need sometimes

is a quiet place somewhere

to sit across each other

clean faced and bare backed

the masks and bells removed

and meet for one last time

without a past or future

to speak in vanilla tones

with neither the passions

of being dangerously in love

nor the bleeding hollows

of conveniently falling out.

Hmm...is it really possible to have this conversation in the REAL world with REAL people?

I think I'm coming to a place where I'm beginning to accept realities of who / what we [people] are capable of...

I love it. Really love it. It seems in our youth we crave for mad passion not realizing how mad it all really is and utterly unsustainable.

I am posting a poem by St. Lucian nobel laureate, Sir Derek Walcott that this poem reminds me of. Yours is about reconciliation between lovers, his is about reconciliation with self.
