Delhi 6 is plain painful to watch...

...if you're not from Delhi. And if you are from Delhi or have lived there at some point, then the movie is just excruciating from what I hear!

I think I'm going to believe the rumours that Aamir Khan ghost directs all his movies. I haven't liked anything Farhan Akhtar, Ashutosh Gowarikar and Rakeysh Mehra have directed after Dil Chahta Hai, Lagaan and Rang De Basanti!

I had a horrible day yesterday running from pillar to post trying to revive my lapsed insurance policy. So I thought it would be nice to unwind in a movie hall and even though it meant spending some more money (I now have to shell out over Rs 40k for the damn insurance premiums), I decided to go watch Delhi 6. I completely forgot that Valkyrie was also releasing yesterday.

After 3 hours of Rakeysh Mehra's nonsensical movie, (I can't believe I almost went up to him to shake his hand the last time I spotted him waiting alone at Santacruz airport) I was all ready to shoot myself in the head. I don't understand what the hell he was trying to say wandering all over the place like that and not getting anywhere. At least, he finally gave Abhishek Bachchan the opportunity to put his fake American twang to some use. He still sounded ridiculous though!

Come on Rakeysh dude, I get stoned sometimes too you know. The only difference is I sit around watching Russell Peters' stand-up comedy with my friends and laughing my ass off in slow motion. (Which reminds me, has anyone seen the one where he does the fuck face and the dick face? It's hilarious. I love the guy.) I don't go out and make a stupid movie.

So Rakeysh dude, please go back to the guys that you conned into giving you money to make this ridiculous film (Ronnie Screwvala and gang) and ask them to give me my Rs 180 back. Plus the Rs 200 I spent on popcorn and other shit just to numb the pain of having to sit through your stupid movie to see if there was any point at the end. And while you're at it, give Mohit Chauhan some more money for singing that Masakalli song so well.

And that, my friends, is one of the reasons I can buy only one DVD this month.

I watched Delhi-6 after I read this bit about it here...it wasn't that painful to watch. It was surreal...I liked when it got very bright, colourful, unreal; some parts were funny...it got preachy at the end, pushing the message home too hard.

Oh the preachiness at the end was too much!! Which is why I said director was stoned... he just went on and on. Have you watched Dev D? It's pretty good.
