Week 3 was a little disappointing; we had one holiday (Republic day), I was a little distracted and may have missed a class or two ;-), and I didn't take any pictures! A quick recap of what we did though - butter icing on a vanilla sponge (Urrrgh!!!), swiss roll, badam pista biscuits, and flaky pastry.
Last week (4) was much better and all of us seemed to bounce back with a lot more enthusiasm, especially me. I even made it to class on time, most of the days. Managed to minimise my use of cabs and took the bus more often. I also started hanging out with some people from class and actually made some friends.
It's just like being back in school or college. Everyone waits for each other after we finish, we call each other up if some of us are already at the gate outside and some of us are still upstairs in the loo (me, most of the time!). Then we walk back together, stopping at a little restaurant around the corner.
We don't sit inside, just hang out outside while the boys grab a smoke and we chat about everything under the sun. All this with me trying very very hard not to take a drag. So far I've succeeded, but there's no telling what will happen in the days/weeks to come. Self-control and me have never seen eye to eye!
Then we continue walking towards the railway station where I say goodbye and turn left to catch a bus. That's when I plug into my iPod and think about how the day has been. And it really feels good. After a long, long time I've started to feel alive and happy about myself, about my life.

YUM!
I don't get all over-friendly and @I want to meet you!' with people I barely know, but your posts and your baking skills are putting me in danger of doing just that! :D
Oh and I don't like butter icing on cake either ...just doesn't seem right!
And isn't it so nice when you start a class somewhere and end up making friends? Great way to meet people methinks :)
Might I just have a small wedge of the banana and walnut cake please and jut a handful of breadsticks. And keep off the fags!
@Mentalie - It was pretty delicious, altho not as delish as the weekend just before that ;-)
Yup, need luck with the damn smoking. So far so good!
@Corinne - Wish I could pass you some. Hope your back's ok now.
@Dewdrop - Hmmm... careful, you might just regret it. I can be quite a pain once the last of the cake crumbs disappear :-) Yup, classes are a great way to meet people but it's pretty transient I think. They're nice people but we don't have anything in common, besides the baking.
@Pat - You can have a whole cake and as many breadsticks as you like! I am being good btw, haven't smoked as yet :-)

Wow! you've got an amazingly yummy blog. Am a great fan of baking delights. I'd love to give the banana walnut cake a go, sounds pretty interesting.

much <3 to you!
@Dew - Welcome and thank you!
@AGG - My bad! I should be visiting you and Milo with the goodies after class. Hopefully, one of these days...
@Himanshu - Maybe I will, you never know ;-)
@Chatterbox - Welcome and thank you. But don't get too excited, my blog is not always about yummy stuff.
@Meggie - You will get everything except the smokes! And darling, those words you've cleverly singled out have nothing to do with the "chocolate cake". I'm not one to mix baking classes with pleasure, not yet at least ;-)
no i never implied they do ;)
school-kid camaraderie is the best!
