Bake Your Cake and Eat it Too!*

Today is my oldest friend's birthday. We've known each other since I was 4 and she was 5. We spent it together after ages and it was just like the old days when we blew out candles, made wishes, cut cake, posed for pictures, and pigged out on her Mom's yummy food.

I made her a Pineapple Fresh Cream cake and took it over. It was a big hit with everyone (other friends, neighbours, relatives etc), even if I say so myself. *Grin*

Here's the inside view...

And this is the outside...

Nice?

I actually made two of these cakes, because one had to be sent to someone else yesterday. I felt so sad packing and parcelling it off because I was dying to have a taste. This afternoon, I got my wish - I baked my cake and ate it too! Yummy!!! I love fresh cream cakes and pineapple is my favourite (along with mango).

*Title courtesy my lucky charm and newest friend - a wise and adorable soul who shares my love for food and other important things in life ;-)

That cake sounds almost easy enough for me to bake:)

@PNA - I love the header pic too, it's on my desktop these days. I'm sure everyone must be wondering why I have it! It's there purely for aesthetic reasons, nothing else.

@Sheer - Thanks honey. Btw I tried leaving comments on your blog earlier today but your new format doesn't let me :( Wanted to tell you how happy I am to see you getting out there and making things happen for yourself. You really inspire me. Have fun and enjoy all these new experiences!
Am sure you bake better than me, what with ESC around. Come over for coffee, poetry and a lot more. Or maybe I will just come there, you never know :-) Hugssssss

@Pat - It's really simple. You just take a plain vanilla sponge and dress with whipped cream and pineapple pieces!

How lucky you are to have a friend to celbrate with, and one from childhood no less. All my friends have migrated.

Mmm, I'm off the breakfast now but I want CAKE!

*celebrate* I mean.

Reminds me of a joke about the priest who died and went to wherever he was sent to...then one day, in the library there, he let out this blood-curdling scream. "They left out the R, they forgot the R, it was a mistake," he hollered.
