Chutney Rolls
They're actually garlic rolls but the Indianised version. They gave us the eye-watering, arse-burning ghaati lasun chutney to use. I love it! Next time, I'm going to try them with the green chutney. They are yummy. I wasn't going to buy any, then I had one to taste and next thing I knew - all the lovely little round fellows were boxed up and in my bag!

Biscuits
The only day I didn't buy any of my stuff. There were too many and I thought mine were not baked to perfection. That's the only problem with these baking classes - we don't get to actually use the ovens ourselves. There are these old men (older than the hills and Dev Anand put together) who handle the ovens and every day it's like the bloody Russian Roulette to see whose stuff will get burnt (mostly) or underbaked (rarely!).

Brown Bread!
Best day so far. You haven't lived if you haven't baked your own loaf of bread and eaten it. Trust me on that. I can't tell you what a huge sense of accomplishment I had that day. I got it right on my first attempt and my teacher said "very good"! Call me a Goan pao again all you fuckin' wannabes, and I'll give you something to stuff your mouths (and other orifices) with.

Danish Pastry / Sweet Croissants
Back-breaking and artery-clogging. I'm never making these again! The amount of fat that goes into these is unbelievable. My back also went out making the damn things. They are delicious though. Again, I thought I wouldn't buy any. But I tasted one and ended up coming home with 4. Yes, I'm hanging my head down in shame now, as I type this, but if it helps any - I did try to puke them out later because of the enormous guilt. Unfortunately, I didn't have any bulimic friends growing up so the damn white poison and fat is going to stick to my intestines for 7 whole days!

Orange Cup Cakes
Was late for class today, for the first time. Twenty-five whole minutes late! Shame on me, I know. Luckily making these were a no-brainer, but painful nevertheless (no machines). They turned out yummy, at least my friend's did. These little cupcakes are his. I baked mine as a small, round cake and am having a hard time uploading the pic.

and I am amazed at your baking skills CC. You get the stuff just right. Fabulous job. When I am in Mumbai; I know who can get me that perfect cake. :)

They all look mouth-wateringly scrumptious.
I can never understand people putting butter on croissants - we never did in France. I like them with a blackcurrant jam. It must be so tempting to devour the lot.

Thanks BM & Dewdrop. Sorry I'm making you drool so much ;-)

Pat, I don't think they were that tempting. I am just that greedy :-)
