Notes to my younger self

You know nothing… yet.
You will never know everything.
But years from now, you will know a few things.
And many of them will be the really important ones.
You are beautiful.
I mean, YOU are truly BEAUTIFUL.
You are the most beautiful person you will ever know.
Hold on to this knowledge like your life depends on it.
Don’t wait 15 or 20 or 30 years to understand this.
It may never be too late but that’s not the point.
Believe in yourself, you’re the best person you will ever meet.
You are amazing.
And you will only get better.
Breathe.
Breathe correctly.
Focus on what matters – just You. Breathing. Correctly.
Don’t ever stop writing because that’s what we do. Even now.
Draw. Paint. Sing. Dance.
Even if people tell you that you’re no good, do it all and do it all the time, because no one will ever do it like you.
Love. Don’t ever stop loving no matter how many times your heart gets broken.
But love yourself first. I know it’s tough and goes against everything you’ve been led to believe thus far, but just love yourself. No one you ever meet will deserve it more than you.
You haven’t met the love of your life… yet.
And you won’t meet him at 30 or 35 or even at 40.
But you will someday and you will KNOW when you do because he will be a braveheart just like you.
He will hunger for you and seek you out like a lone wolf in search of the full moon.
He will never let you down on the days that matter, during the moments you hold closest to your heart. He will know this about you and he will know it well.
And as you go further down the road, he will never turn his reasons for falling in love with you into excuses to inflict pain on you.
Most of all, he will never push your feet towards the exit door by lying to you.
You will recognize him for what he is and love him in the only way you know how to.
But love yourself first. Always.
When people mistreat you remember that it’s a reflection of who they are NOT who you are.
The same goes for when you mistreat someone. Don’t ever do that.
Take care of your health.
Do it now.
Later could be too late.
Have a baby if you can.
Have more than one baby.
Do it now.
Know how much you’re worth.
You’re worth EVERYTHING.
Believe it and believe it NOW.
You will always be a dreamer. Wear that badge proudly.
Never apologize for the way you feel, think, or love.
The worst people are the ones who judge you for your best qualities, they are not worth it.
You can do anything you want to.
Hell, you can even do the things you never imagined you would.
You have a lot of surprises in store for you.
You are not what happened to you.
You are who you want to be.
You will be you. Always.
